Hi Gents

The ground workers have just laid, on Sat, the internal slab for my timber frame bungalow and I'm a bit concerned about the cracks that have appeared in it.

The overall main slab is 8m X 10m.

The make up is:-

100mm h/core
50mm blinding
1200guage DPM
100mm concrete

On top of this will be

75mm Celotex
UFH pipework
75mm screed

I have the boss coming this afternoon to check it out - he says it could be that the mix was too strong.

Should I be worried?

Dave

They look like typical surface shrinkage cracks to me, as in too rapid drying and are unlikely to penetrate very deep.

Unusual though particularly when laid upon dpm at this time of the year.....

Thanks, gents

It was dry and windy on Sat pm and Sunday.

Cracks vary from 0.5mm to 2mm.
