Hi - We recently moved into a new house and found the pipes going to the second floor creak VERY loudly as the heat comes on (we have oil/hot water baseboard). They creak every 15 minutes or so. I think this relates to the expanding and contracting of the pipes as they go against the surrounding wood. I wondered if anyone had experience with this problem? What are some potential fixes we should think about? About how much might repairs cost? Thanks!

Thanks for your suggestion. Is this a major repair problem? Just trying to get myself mentally prepared for what it will take. As a first time homeowner this is our first (of many I'm sure!) repair.
