I'm about to start tiling my kitchen, in the corner I have a down pipe I need to box in and tile, but I still need to be able to get into the corner if needed.

My initial thought is two panels that can be detached, but I can't work out the corner detail. The only way I can see it happening is that the lip of the corner is going to be tile.

Is this acceptable, or is there a different (better) way to do this?

    Many thanks

There will be a corner trim, but I want the panels to be removable.

The edge of the tile that goes over the corner will be overhanging the edge of the panel by the thickness of the backboard + tile thickness
(so about 20mm + thickness of adhesive)

Magnets? Even Velcro or pedal board tape (super Velcro) could hold it together.
I have a similar situation in a box room that was a bare brick attic type space and I used t&g on the walls.
Cables ran from the attic above to garage below, so I made a simple lift out L shaped cover.

You could screw a steel strip to your tiled panels and drill neat holes in the battens on the wall. Then aroldite some button neodymium magnets into the holes.
