All sorted now. My plumber fitted a 45 degree angled connector and added a short length of pipe to keep within minimum safe distances etc. Hopefully the neighbour will be happy enough as the flue now blows in the direction of my property and hopefully the gases will diffuse enough before reaching her living room window on the 1st floor.
