the light-o-rama site seemed a bit thin on the details but it seems to be essentially computer driven, probablly quite similar to dmx but propietry.

and it seems they provide software specifically aimed at fast changing light shows but i bet you can get that for dmx as well.

I will bet it is done with DMX, and a controller set up with "scenes"

That'd be one way of doing it, but you'd loose the bet, cos its done with Light-O-Rama

Update: On 6 December 2005, news reports announced that Carson Williams' 2005 Christmas light display had been shut down because it was causing traffic congestion problems in his subdivision.
