Apologies for postin this again. On internet via Phone and won't let me open other post. Can i attach a 10mm earth cable directly to an earth strap, or should i buy crimpers and fit a lug to the earth cable first then attach to earth strap? Strap is fitted to water supply. I'll be doing gas in near future.

Fitting the wiring direct to the clamp is ok.

Using a CT10-6 lug provides a more secure connection, but it is not a requirement.

There's a couple of different clamps, those that clamp a cable between two plate with a screw at either side. They're good for the cable to terminate directly in. And then there's the type that has a 6mm screw which you should do as RF advises above as I've yet to see a sound mechanical connection without an eylet crimp.
