I attempted to apply Crown Kitchen & Bathroom mouldguard, mid sheen emulsion in brilliant white to my kitchen walls this weekend.
However, after two coats, the old colour (putty colour) was showing through and the overall appearance was streaky and patchy. I tested a third patch in a small corner , and although there was a slight improvement, the problems persists.
I believe the covering I painted over was a water based emulsion (although it did have a sheen) - I have also tested painting over a separate area of matt emulsion and the same thing is happening.
Would anyone be able to advise why this product does not seem to have covered correctly , and what should I do to rectify the problem ? Thanks for any help u can give.

I'm afraid this range of paints from Crown has gained a very poor reputation with regard to their covering power.
