I laid and compacted 2.5 tonnes of A-fill crusher run for my new patio a couple weeks ago. It was solid when i compacted but today i checked after a few days of rain and its very soft, to the point where I can easily push my finger down to the soil.

I was told by the merchant that it does the same job as Type 1, which is what i ordered initially but they had none in, but it is nothing like Type 1. I've also read online crusher run is commonly used for patio's but i don't get how if it lets water in so easily.

Should I get rid of it and start again laying proper Type 1 or is this salvageable another way?

I had similar with my extension base.
Old buildings near me getting knocked down and crushed and they called it crushed concrete ( type 1) I asked for type 1 but that's what was dumped off.
I wasn't happy with it earlier.
I dug out some tarmac and plastics, wood and glass and smashed up large rocks. I then bought a ton of the good stuff and dug in. Raked. Whacked down.
