I have a rough paneled fence to paint, approx 2m x 9m long. I was going to paint it with Cuprinol Ducks back cedar but the missus decided she liked the colour of Cuprinol Garden shades terracotta. This would be fine by me except my choice is approx £15 for 5 litres and hers is £15 for 1 litre!!

I can't see any reason why one is 5 times more expensive than the other?

What's the difference, I can't work it out? Both protect fences and are 4-5 year protectors, what am I missing?

The biggest difference is that the ducksback will stain the wood and the shades is opaque so will cover the colours that are in the wood.

Oh I see, thanks for the info. They do more colours though in the opaque paint range than the stain range and also I can't understand why one is so much more expensive than the other, stain v paint, 90% water both of them probably....

I do know what you mean with price differences, probably cost the same to produce. Have a look on cuprinol a web site, loads of info on there.
