The new curtains we've bought are of a really heavy material and are putting the supports away from the wall and taking a bit of the plaster with them so I'm going to have to put up a wooden batten.

What is the best way to put this up? with screws or with a combination of screws and No More Nails?

How many screws will I need? The batten will be about 240cm long.

Also - will this batten be enough to stop the supports coming away from the wall or will the supports and the batten start to come away?

yep good idea to use adhesive,i always tend to over engineer things with fixings so you could put a screw every 400 mm.
