Hi,

Looking for some advise and assistance please.

The right hand side of a curtain pole in one of my rooms has come down above patio UPVC doors. Its a old wooden curtain pole with long curtain so fairly heavy and the hole is only part way drilled due to lintel behind.

I have tried various fixings and rawl plugs and previously tried raking out the hole and refilling it with plaster repair and then re-applying heavey duty rawl plugs. Unfortunately after a few hours the curtain pole comes down again.

I know the ideal scenario is to use a wooden batten but I am not keen on doing that as the room has existing wall paper, instead I would do this when I re-decorate and reskim the walls at a later date.

I would be grateful for suggestions or ideas on how I can hang the Curtin pole back up or an alternative approach to provide curtains or privacy screens over the UPVC French door windows.

Thanks in advance.

Metal lintel?
Will drill easy with a DeWalt metal drill and a long self tapping screw.

Drill on a low speed

I often tickle the trigger on and off as going fast will burn drill out and not drill hole.
Takes about 30 seconds to drill a hole
