Hi,

I am fitting some cabinets as part of a workshop building project in my school. We are building a MakerSpace.

The building is held up with steel circular pillars approx 210cm in diameter.
I want to fit corner units and would like to but up against the wall.
The only Way I can see achieving this is to cut the corner out of the cabinet and then shore it up with some additional timber. One one side I can cut a slot in the end of the cabinet but on the other corner the pillar is too close so the whole corner would have to come off. As this may ruin the cabinet in this corner I don’t mind just butting it up against the pillar but would then need to fill the gap in the cabinet.

I also have a couple of gaps between my end run of 1000mm cabinets and wanted to fit some fillers, what’s the best way of filling these voids.

Any advice on the best way of doing the above?

Nothing is achieved by butting to wall just loss of storage , fit corner units which have a natural void to accommodate steel.
Fit top and box in steel .

Sorted it, although on the first one I forgot to leave the 131mm gap as required in the Howdens manual :(
