I was interested to see that France plans to employ 700 new officers to cope with the post-brexit workload, and so far has recruited 250 of them.

Holland plans to employ 1,000 additional staff.

Can anyone tell me how many UK has taken on so far? I haven't seen the job adverts.

The UK will probably get rid of many customs jobs.

Brexit is creating jobs already , what's not to like
Lol, made me laugh. How to wind up hard-core remainers in one sentence!

I just had a look at this stuff John's talking about and found this amusing. Not only is there no plan, they don't even know how many are employed at the mo to do the job.
"The department said it did “not hold data on the numbers of staff who are currently detailed to perform customs roles” and that it would be too expensive to work out the number of officers, as doing so would require a “manual extensive check” of records at various fragmented facilities scattered across the UK"

Expensive? Why is it 'too expensive' to get someone to look at the records? Is there nobody out there actually able to do such a simple job? This gov is really inept.

It's the government who are in charge of a borders, both goods and people (Home Office) and it's the government need to make sure that Brexit goes well.
