Cutting a cinderblock wall

Hi All,
I need to cut about a foot off the top of a cinderblock wall in the next few days. It's a short wall with no rebar. Can I do this myself? If so, what tools do I need? I was thinking score it with a circ saw, then knock it out with a hammer.
