I need to cut a howdens base unit round a brick upstand on the wall, the service gap on the unit is 65mm and the bricks stick out a minimum of 90mm so I would need to cut the support bars.....how would I be best to do this?

However far the unit on the right goes past the L/H unit is the amount to rip - measure from the front face. The base, cheeks and shelf will have to be ripped the desired amount. If you have to remove the entire service recess then dismantle the unit if possible, rip, and bring any rails or stretchers forward.

However, if a similar, unassembled unit is on site then use that rather than dismantling one. Or, could you possibly chip and hack the brickwork away (remembering the W/T) if site conditions allow? Also remember backing for your filler piece.

Ah that makes good sense just remove the exsisting back and build a new one a little further forward......thanks.
