I have taken out my old green bathtub for disposal but it wont fit in my car so I want to cut it in half but it seems to take ages with a hand saw and makes lots of noise. what is the best way to do this, would an electric jigsaw be better as the plastic/fibreglas does seem very thick or should I smash it to pieces with a seldge hammer? I dont want any accidents but the council won't take bathrooms anymore unless i pay a large sum and there is no room for any skips due to parking restrictions. thanks in advance

An alligator saw would be best but the jigsaw will do the job albeit a little slower.

yep a wood blade pendulum on will take about 2mins cut from the outside and keep the base in contact with the bath as much as possible :D
