Hi all
Part of home renovations i have boarded out my en suite, and in the shower area i have used a 12mm backie board. the room as been wet plastered and stood empty while i have been concentrating on other parts of the house,
the house is not heated, but sealed from the elements although you could say its a bit primitive on the inside. I have noticed that there is a damp line on the backie board plaster junction, the plasterboard is completely dry, but my guess is that the backie board seems to of lapped up airborne moisture as this is showing at the plaster junction.
I am quite suprised at this, as i thought the backie board would resist the moisture? can anybody put my mind at rest regarding this? there is absolutely no ingress of water or anything to do with plumbing, it is purely atmosthere moisture that as attracted to the board.
