I have noticed considerable damp in a first floor room in my house. There is no damp in the ground floor. Only in one room and on one wall I have this problem. Other side of the wall is partly external and partly next house.

I went to the loft and could not see anything leaking.

So what is causing this? Is it an easy fix or an expensive one? If the later, can I claim from my insurance?

Additional information

House built in 1980s
Noticed this damp after recent wet weather. Was fine before.
Bought this house 5 years back and survey did not flag any damp issue then.
There is no gutter outside of the said wall.

PS: Today weather is sunny and I could feel the wall is much less wait compared to yesterday.
