I have a Victorian terrace house with a single skin brick, single story rear extension which currently houses the kitchen and bathroom.
I guess it was probably added in the 1960s and isn't in great condition.
Not surprisingly, the place is damp.
I intend to relocate the kitchen and bathroom elsewhere in the house, but would like to use the extension as a utility / boiler room and downstairs cloakroom. There would be radiators to heat the space.
The question is how best to damp proof and insulate.
I thought about building an inner skin with DPC in clockwork, then plaster.
or might it be better to batten out and use some king of insulation ?
The extension's roof is also in poor condition and the ceiling height isn't great.
What sort of insulation would be best for the roof.
Any thoughts ? thanks
