Danfoss rx1 wiring to mains switch

I'm looking for some help to wire in a dunfoss rx1 thermostat to control an oil fired burner. At the moment it's controlled by a simple timer switch as below. There is a live in and live out on going to the boiler. Is there a way to wire in the stat?

I tried running a live and neutral to power the stat itself and moved the live in to Position 2 COM. Live out to position 3. That didn't work.

Any help would be appreciated

Hi,

Did you also join the two neutrals together?

It probably should be:
Red and black from "IN" on timer into L and N on RX1 respectively
Link wire from L to position 2
Red from "OUT" on timer to position 3
Black from "OUT" on timer to N, on RX1
