DANGER ..........Sliding Door Please check yours.

A family member has a 1 metre wide by 2m high sliding upvc glass door which is the tilt out and slide type and is about 10 yrs old.

Last night it decided to fall off its mounting and crashed onto the nearby table breaking one of the legs but the glass staying intact.

It could have fell on top of our children who visit and would have probably killed one of them with the weight as I estimate it would be over 40 kilos.

please please check yours if you have one and ensure the hinging is adequate as these hinges did not look heavy duty and were not cheap when bought.

I still shudder thinking about it and would never have one of those death traps in my house.
