Hi guys. I've just stripped the wallpaper in our 100 yr old semi and the plaster underneath on some walls has this green stuff. Do you think its some kind of old glue or could it be a green mould I need to deal with?

I would have a go at mould removal in an inconspicuous area ? Bleach and cloths, I think some of the kitchen spray bleaches could assist??

So you think it could be mould? It seems to scrape off in a powdery way

If it is mould do you think cleaning it off will be enough or is there a possibility it might need replastering?

Appreciate your realresponse

Could it be distemper?

An old type of 'paint' used on houses used 60 years+ ago?

It it was, I would have expected to see more on the walls, but it's possible someone has had a go at getting off before.

Try a bucket of warm water and a sponge, and ee if it comes off.
