Deck boards

I'm going to be replacing the in-laws decking in a couple of weeks and I'm just now looking to source and price the materials.

I'm looking at 124mm wide boards. Nearest well known supplier is Travis Perkins. Unless anyone knows a reasonable supplier near M20?

I'm after 4.8m long boards.

My main question is, are there different qualities to look for, to get something that will last longer than other stuff? Without buying hardwood of course.

£1.59 /m this month at Selco.

All decking tends to be the same quality.

Life of decking is all dependant on treating the end grain and regular recoating - using an oil, which does not chip off like many other paints/stains.

Is Selco pretty decent on everything compared to Travis and the others?

I have the mug but have never been in there.

In my opinion, yes; for timber, board and general building stuff.
I've never bought electrical goods from there.

You need to get membership with a trade invoice etc first. If you look at their prices they do not include VAT.
