I have decking to install onto part of an area which has been block paved. I am concerned about the point loading of the posts on the paving and am considering standing them on pads to spread the load. I had thought of paving slabs but not sure if these will crack if surface uneven. Anybody done this before and if so what did you use.

i'd have thought block paving would take quite a weight... after all you can park a car on it?!!

but you could use concrete blocks, instead of paving slabs..

Thanks for the quick replies guys.
'after all you can park a car on it' - funny how when you start looking for problems you can miss the obvious! Why didn't I think of that!

Thanks again
