Can anyone explain the definition of Common/Comm when wiring please? Been looking all over the net, cant find anything!! Searched the wiki, shows the Comm a lot, would personally like to know the exact meaning behind it tho?? Is it just the live connection that shares its supply with multiple switches/wires?

Also, 'L1' and 'L2', are they just terms for the 'new' lives??

In the context of a 2 way light switch common is the terminal which is common to the other two. L1 and L2 are the switch positions. With the switch in one position, the circuit is between common and L1. With the switch in the other position the circuit is between common and L2.

Some light switches are marked L1, L2 and L3. In this instance, L1 is the common and L2/L3 are the switch positions.
