Dehumidifier

Hiya all, I brought a Dehumidifier off Ebay no clue of the make or model. Turning it on all seems good 4 modes and hums away lovely,tried all the modes in a damp room ,left it on about 4hrs and the water container stays as dry as a bone. Can anybody help??

You never know, the thing may be out of refridgerant gas.....
Basically what happens is that moist air is drawn into the machine, and this is allowed to condense and then freeze on the freezing elements inside.
From time to time, the freezing part automatically switches off, allowing the ice to return to water which then drips into the collection bottle.
So - the noise you are hearing is just the fan running, drawing moist air in....it sounds like its just pushing it straight back out again.
