Is there any way to do this after changing one's mind to remove the danger of posting by mistake?
Not that I've found. Apparently deleting one's text is easy enough, but the next time one ues the reply box, it pops up again out of some hiding place in cyberspaceIs there any way to do this after changing one's mind to remove the danger of posting by mistake?
Yes, posting something (anything - just one character seems to be enough) seems to be about the only way of really 'clearing' the reply box (for ever). However, that leaves the forum strewn with 'messy remnants', since we can't totally delete posts, either (without the assistance of mods/admin).Not ideal, but i think what i did was delete most of it in the reply box, post the remaining, then delete as much of the post as possible
Yep - similar experiences here. However, as Rocky said, if you actually post those full stops (only one or two are required), that's really 'the end' of what one had previously typed.I even deleted the text and replaced with a line of full stops. Next visit, text is back again.
