Hi,

I remember reading, years ago, about an artificial fibre, very densely tufted carpet that was so stain resistant and non-stick that it could be used in kitchens.

I can't remember the name or anything about it. But I could now be interested if anyone has come across it, or better still, actually used it.

Any advice would be welcome.

It sounds like Flotex, now owned by the Forbo group of companies.

It really is an excellent product but is a bit 'marmite' to the touch, customers either love it or hate it, the designs are now much much better than a few years ago

Thanks guys,

Yes, it is Flotex. With the name I was able to get a sample from a large shop nearby.

The stuff is thinner than I thought it would be and I would have to put a marine ply layer under it to smooth our kitchen floor irregularities. This will all make for an expensive installation.

So I'll now make a cost comparision between Flotex and floor tiles. Though I suppose any way you look at it, it's only money in the end.

Appreciate your help.
