Hello. I am purchasing this to use as a desk on a wall.

https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/saeljan-worktop-oak-effect-laminate-60439173/#content

It will be cut down to 450mm depth as it is a very small room.

I was just looking at options for mounting it and rather than using heavy duty brackets, I would like to use timber battens instead. One full strip at the back and 2 at the sides. I was just wondering if these would be big enough or should I get the 60mm? It is going into masonry and the only thing on it will be a keyboard and mouse and a printer.

Thanks in advance.

how wide is your alcove?

will you have drawers or cupboard under?

seems rather wide to have no intermediate supports

if you were to have anything underneath, you could add a bulkread or leg(s)

If your going to Ikea, they do adjustable desk legs too.
