i have a 2,a 18v dewalt battery that no longer holds a charge , is there any way theese can be fixed or do i have to buy a new one ?

nicad or li-ion ??

how old is the battery how often on average has it been used daily weekly monthly seldom

its nicad and its used weekly and about 3yrs old ,its from the xr range
and my mistake its a 2.6a

2.6 does it have a yellow top[nmh]
do you have another charger ??

Yes it has a yellow top and no i dont have another charger , this came with 2 other batteries which still hold there charge .
so the charger is still working ok .it is a 30 min charger when i try and charge this particular batt it says after about 5 minds that its charged but when you attatch it to drill it starts then goes flat within seconds

I read somewhere that if you touch the terminals to double the voltage for a split second it will allow them to be charged again, not tried it though.

zapping batteries in my opinion is only a short term few days or weeks a dying battery is near its end and a shot of viagra can only be temporary
