Apparently we paid the £400 million debt to Iran and secured the release of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe.

Interesting timing, especially as Iran-Russia ties may have strengthened earlier this year.

Then they pay 400 million. Thy were going to pay all along so why let this family suffer??

Given that Boris almost certainly managed to increase her sentence by failing to read any briefings and shooting his ,out off about her activities in Iran, it's a miracle that she's still alive.
As for the "sweetener" - we did take their money for an arms deal, then changed our mind. Fair enough.
But then we refused to hand the money back.
