Hi all, hopefully someone can help on what i imagine is a pretty basic answer!! :)

Having embarked on my first floor tiling exercise - for the bathroom leading onto a small lobbying housing the boiler, i have run out of floor tile adhesive to fnish the lobby area.

I still have plenty of sand and cement left over from an earlier part of this job. Could i not just mix a mortar to fix the slate rather than buying another bag of adhesive?

From an inexperienced point of view both appear to have the same properties, although the adhesive seems to be much quicker setting.

Many thanks, Kev
