Moved into a new house and there's an electric fire (it's got a fan heater inside it) and the heater part isn't working. Will it be easy to get and fit a replacement part or easier to buy a new one? The fire is a dimplex X1B.

Thanks

Spare elements are around £50 so cheaper than replacement, depends on if you have the skill to correctly diagnose the problem and replace. It may be a failed element or just a switch.

There was a slight amount of heat when we first used it but now it's stopped completely. Any idea what it'll be or how to go about diagnosing. The fan and flame effect and bulbs all work correctly just no heat. Thanks.

Does the heat element sit at the top?
Does the fan at the bottom (nr the two light bulbs) flicker the fabric flames and convect the air up and through the heat element?
Thanks
