I switched off the downstairs lights MCB and opened the alarm box:
I pulled out the fuse and extracted the battery:
Not a peep of sound.
I tested the voltage of the battery:
As its supposed to be 12V dc, I think at 2V, we can safely say it's dead.
This was 24 hours ago and still not a beep or a chirp from the external bell box.
Thanks for everyone's help. I think this alarm has been successfully deactivated without causing any noise nuisance.
