Is there any accepted way of terminating a 13 socket connection on a ring main? The cables come down the wall encased in plaster and I want to leave the wall smooth.
why are you getting rid of it? If the cables are staying there, and live, you have to indicate the cables are there, by putting a visible blanking plate there. Otherwise, pull the cables out and cut back to the ceiling and join them using crimps in the ceiling.
Only choice you have if you don't want to chase the walls out, is to remove the unwanted socket outlets then crimp the cables inside the back box and make secure then fit a double or single blank plate depending on outlets type. Then in the future if you decide to use them again you can, or if you redecorate then they can be removed.
