Dishwasher intermittently not draining

I have an AEG/Electrolux Favorit Favorit 35085VI integrated dishwasher.
It was working perfectly well until recently.

I get 2 beep error code at the end of a program and water pools at the bottom of the dishwasher.
When I run it again I can hear a hum from the drain pump, trying to do something, but not draining, program continues as usual.
If I remove the water and wait a few hours it will work fine again and drain, but 50/50% it will complete the program or fail with pooling again at the end.

Filters are cleaned
I have checked the drains and the pump (seems fine it rotates nothing is lodged) but I cannot be sure that it is fully functional.
I have tried to unclog with vinegar/bicarb, did not do anything.

I'd be happy to replace the pump, but does this sound like it could be the failure given that it always works again after a few hours?
Is there some kind of sensor that could be failing to engage the drain?

Thanks!

Probably cheap to replace pump so why not try.
I say pumps last 5 years or less and any more time is a lottery when they die.
In saying that some pumps look last forever it seems.
Pumps can be temperamental when they start to fail

Thanks, at least I know that it could be worth trying. £15 easy attempt if not I'll probably replace it, I think it might be 17 years old...

Pump will be knackered for sure.
They are odd things. Lookup bigclivedotcom on YouTube as he takes a washing machine pump apart. Dishwasher pumps are the same design.
