Dishwasher Tablets - Recomendations

Hi,
We will be getting our First ever Dishwasher next Friday (yippee), as we have never had one before, any advice on Dishwaher Tablets?We are getting a slimline as that is all we have room for, but I guess that won't make any difference to what Tablets we use?

Are the Well Known Brands, fininsh , Fairy etc any good or go for Supermarket own?

We did to use the cheaper tablets & fill the other compartments with the finish liquids.
We were not satisfied with the results after making lots of adjustments. We now use the tablet with all 3 ingredients. We use a supermarket own brand.
Machines are different & so is the cost of the tablets etc. I think its best you try for yourself.

be sure to read the instructions carefully (we get people who have accidentally put detergent in the salt container)

use salt and rinse aid even though the tablets say they do everything - it is not expensive (if you have a whole-house softener you can mis out the salt if you want - if you see limescale forming on the heating element the water is not soft enough.

My Sister in Law uses Fairy Powder Bursts and says they are the best..compared with the supermarket own ones, they are abouit twice the price,so might do some trying and seing results.

Will keep an eye on this thread to see if any one else puts in any info.
