I've been looking for glass splashbacks for a while now, but all the online places I look are either too expensive or can't supply the right colour.

I wondered whether i could just get some 6mm toughened glass cut to size and spray the back with car paint (have seen a nice ferrari-red...) and stick to the wall with silicon?

Any ideas welcome.

You could , would need polished edges and you need to ensure the adhesive does not attack the paint finish, or show thru the glass.

That's what we did - make sure you get the glaziers to grind the edges. You could have the glass drilled or do what we did which is to use mirror clips

What do you call expensive, my local glazier does them made to measure , any colour from £40.

I've been quoted from £85 upwards (as i said, for a colour not-quite-right) for the longest piece, 2265 x 20mm.

Everyone i've spoken to hassaid the car=paint may not adhere properly, so may peel off.

Might have to go with a colour I don't really want.

FOXHOLE - if you're in Kent I might be able to contact your local glazer. Could you let me know the name/address/website?
