Diy loft boarding new at this Diy

Hiya experienced internet world
I'm new to all this diy and haven't done much of anything but build ikea monstrosities, im going to be laying some loft boarding down in my attic for basic storage, I've cleared the area of wires and insulation and there are no pipes or lights in the way.
But i am now not sure what the best way to lay the t&g boarding is.
I have drew a very crude diagram with paint to show the 4 ways i can think of to lay it and would like to know which is the best?
Please please help me not wreck my house lol?

Idea D.....lay across the joists and catch the joins on a joist where you can.

what are the dimensions of the loft timbers

width x depth, and longest span between supporting walls.

you do not need to remove all the insulation

if you are using chipboard, A and B are bad. A is the worst way to do it

method C is better as the boards look bigger than D. But staggered joints (as in D) are better. What size boards are you looking at? The bigger the better (as fewer joints)
