Hi
I have just removed my kitchen tiles and the 3/2mm skim coat came with most of them so I removed the rest (leaving some sort of brown plaster/screed behind). I am going to tile again but having never tiled or plastered before I can't decide whether it is worth putting a finish layer of plaster down to make the tiling easier/better or just putting a thicker layer of adhesive down.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Also if I should plaster how long should i leave it before I tile?

Best to skim over the damaged areas with mutli finish plaster.
If only thin, you can safely tile over it when it looks dry (but leave it about a week anyway). If thicker, leave it longer.
