I'm about to (planning to!) lay Bamboo flooring. I've lifted and removed the old flooring and exposed the floorboards. Can I lay the new Bamboo straight on to these (all flat and true) or do I need underlay? Also, as this will run through the kichn, do I need an underlay above the tiled floor or is adhesive sufficient?

How do you plan to install your new floor? floating, nailing, glueing down? And in the same direction as your existing boards?

nailing on the wood, glueing over the tiled. In the same direction as the existing.

Same direction: install plywood first to prevent movement due to cupped or uneven existing floorboards.
Nailing down means no need for underlayment.

As for gluieng on tiles: what type of tiles are there? Are you sure they will be grease free?
