Do I really need PVAc adhesive for floor?

Have been advised to use PVAc glue for the t&g for a floating oak floor. Have rang lots of flooring companies locally but no-one's heard of it ...let alone stock it. Can't find any anywhere.
Will ordinary PVA do the job? I need to start the job in 4 days time....any ideas?? :?
 
Ask for wood glue in flasks, that might ring a bell at these 'flooring' companies.
 
Rang several of these companies again & they're still scratching their heads.
Is it ordinary pva then?
