On my business course we were talking about ways we could get people to open the emails we send them by what we put in the subject.

So this is just to see a count of how many people open this post

As they click on it you can just guess that they are saying "why?" to themselves

There is a difference.

If I got an e-mail from a stranger which said do not open, I'd say fair enough and bin it off.

It could contain offensive images, mallicious code or anything.

A forum post won't. Well it might have the images, but I'm sure the mods would take that down.

Oh and I open most posts just to clear the little orange flag off them, wether I read them or not.
