Just a little reminder to all you dog owners out there who require a boiler repair.

PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW IT ACCESS TO THE AREA OF THE HOUSE WHERE THE ENGINEER IS WORKING. WE ARE THERE TO FIX YOUR BOILER NOT HAVE OUR BALLS SNIFFED.

That is all.

When I go into a customers property I tell them that all pets need to be locked out of our way and children are not allowed in the room we are working in. I tell them that this is company policy. It always works, it's stopped getting the dogs nose up your arse or children nicking my tools.

Make you right on that.
Had a few nasty nips off customers dogs in the past.

After the dog is put out, make sure the Custard closes ALL the doors & Windows - I had a bad experience with a Custards German Shepherd a few years ago, I was told the "Guard Dog" would be put out in the yard while I went round a house testing TRV's, i was coming down the stairs, when this b***dy dog ran up and trie to Kill me!! no exageration I had 28 Stitches, and 3 weeks off work :x The Dog had jumped through an open window downstairs to get back in and Terminate me

As you say, kids are just as bad.

I still remember fixing a washing machine for someone, who seemed to think it was perfectly OK that her 2-year-old son was inches away from sticking his fingers in the back of the machine while it was powered-up, saying things like "Ah, isn't he cute? He's trying to help you". In the end, I had to be very firm with the mother, which seemed to upset her somewhat. Better than an electrocuted child with missing digits though, surely.

My mate had a customer threaten to take him to court.

He worked for a car stereo shop and a customer came in wanting a stereo to be fitted to her car. He was given the job and told the car was in the carpark, he opened the car door and got in. All of a sudden a Doberman dog jumped up from the rear and starting to bite my mate, his reaction was to hit out. He did hurt the dog, as it backed off from him. He got out of the car and went into the office and told the customer, she went to check the dog and it was cowering in the rear of the car. She then threaten court action against the shop.
