Dodgy Installation

Went to a house today that has had a Worcester Greenstar 30 CDi Regular Boiler fitted by a Non Gas Safe registered person (as you will see from the following photos).

The person that fitted it is no longer available on the mobile number that the customer has, is not on the gas safe register and surprise surprise not completed any of the paperwork.

On the bright side, it will keep the snow off the lean too roof, and the spiders nicely gassed in the nooks and crannies, there we go, a positive posting from me

Nice little vent hole in the roof though to let the pluming out, and the condense is keeping the wall clean outside, and they won't have any probs with condense pipes freezing! At least they put the tape around the flue - nice touch!

You are just jealous, what's wrong with an alternative setup?
The guy was even conscientious enough to put the silver warning band at the end of the flue.

Can you fit a Plume Kit to the flue and take it out through the hole in the Lean To's roof?

What are the exact regs on this as I am not 100% certain.

The boiler has been switched off much to her delight

She can not remember the firm that came out originally but the lad who fitted it did it after hours

She has given me the persons name who fitted it and if it is who i think it is then he defo not on the register and a bit of a charcater.

You may have a point there. Many posts show consumers so brainwashed by WB they believe the boiler will almost install itself so confidently take the cheapest fitter.

You are right, being an island, you would have thought they wouldn't get work, do a bad job and the whole of the island knows, but there is still plenty of it going on.
