Does anyone have a diagram?

There is absoloutly no need to be like that.

Now back to your thread.

If a patient came into your surgery and made a statement like "I've been having a lot of headaches recently. Can you tell me whats wrong with me?"

What would your answer be?

Would you say sure, no problem take these pills and it might go away, or would you ask the patient some more questions and possibly do some tests to find out why he is having headaches giving you a much better chance of prescribing the correct course of treatment, whatever that may be.

Do you see where I'm coming from?

We are not being deliberatly arkward. We really are a nice bunch of people (well most).

All we want to do is find out what the actual problem is so we can help you properly.

We could supply you with a diagram which to the untrained eye looks to be the right one for your particular installation, but it is infact incorrect, and connecting your wires like that could leave you with a dangerous installation, when there is an exact drawing for your installation.

Failing that, it is not unknow for one of use to draw a diagram specific to your needs if one does not exist.

Thank you, I have now fitted the light. Apologies to be blunt, but I was not expecting rudeness, especially from "ban-all-sheds" who, pardon the pun, does not seem the brightest bulb. Regards G

Clearly Ban-all-sheds needs a frontal lobotomy and I'm just the guy to let him have it.

I don't have any experience, so does Grahambarr60 have a diagram that will show me how to undertake the procedure?

It amazes me the number of people who come on to this site seeking advice for problems they have created themselves and are then as un-helpful as they can be.

G you were asked some basic questions, asked to provide some pictures to help assess the situation.

Did you do this? No!

If you had called an electrician out to deal with your self made problem then you would have been looking at £50 minimum. You got advice for FREE and then you have the gore to call us ARROGANT!!! because YOU had failed to provide the SYMPTOMS of the problem!!!

YOu may be a DOCTOR with 5/6/7 years training, but most the electricians here are 3/4 years training and believe me the knowledge and skills are at least Equivalent to a degree.

I know, I have a 1st in Mathematics and it was a piece of **** compared to getting qualified as a sparky!!!

WE are charged with maintaining systems so that YOU do not have to treat the consequences. May I suggest you improve your attitude toward people, especially when you are getting their time and knowledge and help for free!!!!

Well said oharaf. Too many people think they are better because they sit in an office and wear a tie. Most office bods have degrees in useless and irrelevant subjects, which are in no way related to their current job, yet they look down at trades?
