Hey everyone im just wondering does anyone know the term for a tool i seen it has 3 prongs in it and ya slip a black rubber on it and press the handle and the rubber expands,you then slip in ya cable close the handle and the prongs clamp the cable and ya take the tool out leaving the rubber on the cable its leaves a heatshrink effect im looking to buy one on ebay thanks in advance i tried to explain it as best i can and none of the foremen at work know the proper name for it :oops:

Castration pliers? Same tool used to put rings of rubber on rams balls or at least that's what was done years ago to make them into weather lambs think may be banned now?

Hellerman pliers more common name as already said.

You also get a special oil to go with them. Hellerman oil. Does not damage cables we used it on gas tight SWA glands to stop seal being damaged as it is pulled over the cable.
 
A bottle of this was gift wrapped as a wedding present for a colleague.

He was so very un-amused. His wife, a wire woman in the same company, was even less amused.
 
used to be called 'fanny stretchers' where i did my apprenticeship.

just remember never to leave them in your back pocket if you go to sit down, it hurts :eek:
