Does anyone recognise this spindle style?

Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of renovating an old (1904) house in South Wales.
We found under lots of boxing in the original stair case was mostly intact - but it is missing a couple of spindles.

I'm struggling to find this exact style - lots of similar ones on the various stair part sites / ebay etc but not this particular one.

By any chance does anyone recognise this one and happen to know the style name (or where I might find a couple of matching ones)..?

Spindles in 1904 would not have come from a retail catalogue, so find yourself a local joiners shop who can turn spindles (they won't normally advertise this, you have to ask, and if they don't do it they'll know someone who does in all probability) or better still a commercial wood turner, take one spindle out and get copies made from that. Any money that's how the original stair builder did it, that or he turned them himself.

Look for a keen amateur wood turner. Plenty of people play about in their sheds with wood turning lathes. What about a local college?

Yep, join a few local facebook comunity groups, the kind of thing old farts in their sheds jump at whilst they countdown to the inevitable. If you're not on Facebook because 'you don't do social media' then get a grip and get on it, great for stuff like this.

Thanks everyone - I've had a chat with the chap who runs a local woodworking club who is putting me in touch with someone who specialises in woodturning.

Appreciate all the suggestions (and especially the confirming this won't necessarily be a common style).
