Speaking 'ON TOPIC', if you had bothered to read the very first reply to the original question John you would have seen that I answered the question.

Jaundice, gives the skin a pale yellowish colouring and also affects the whites of the eyes due to the blood contains an excess of bilirubin pigment, i.e. the same way we tell with every other human.
