hi all,

just a quick question what size opening is a normal standard internal door casing and door, then what size opening do i build to fit it, is it around 800mm wall to wall what height also?

Cheers

There is not really any such thing as a standard door opening;

The most commonly used size where disabled access is not a factor is 762mm or 686mm x 1981mm high. Where you need to comply with disabled access, you need a minimum 800mm clear opening so use 864mm x 1981mm.

You can make door linings but TBH, it’s far quicker, easier & usually cheaper to buy a door lining kit unless you really like woodwork.
